Author Guidelines

1. Introduction

Paramartha: Journal of Islamic Guidance and Counselling in Education is a scientific journal that publishes original research and scholarly works in the field of Islamic Guidance and Counselling in Education (BKPI). The journal aims to provide an academic forum for the development of theories, practices, and research in Islamic counselling services, focusing on educational contexts, Islamic values, and character formation.


2. General Guidelines for Manuscripts

  • The manuscript must be an original research work or scholarly article that has not been previously published or is under consideration elsewhere.

  • Manuscripts are accepted in English or Indonesian in accordance with academic writing standards.

  • The manuscript should follow the provided article template, typed on A4 paper (210 × 297 mm), with margins: top 2.54 cm, bottom 2.54 cm, left 2.54 cm, right 2.54 cm. The font used is Garamond, size 11 pt, 1.5 line spacing.

  • The manuscript length is 5,000–7,000 words, including tables, figures, and references.

  • All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. Submissions will be checked using plagiarism detection software, and any manuscripts with indications of plagiarism will be rejected immediately.

  • The manuscript should consist of the following sections: Title, Author(s), Affiliation(s) and Email, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review (optional), Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment (optional), and References.

  • The article title should be concise (maximum 20 words), written in Garamond 14 pt, bold, title case, centered, with single line spacing.

  • Author(s) name(s) should appear under the title, followed by affiliation(s) and email address.

  • Abstracts must be written in both English and Indonesian, not exceeding 150 words, including objectives, methods, and findings.

  • Keywords should consist of 3–8 words/phrases that represent the core topics of the article.


3. Guidelines for Manuscript Structure

  • Title: Must be clear, concise, and informative, with no uncommon abbreviations. The maximum length is 20 words.

  • Abstract: Maximum of 150 words, written in both Indonesian and English, followed by 3–8 keywords arranged alphabetically. The abstract should include objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

  • Introduction: Should provide background, a brief literature review (state of the art), research problems, objectives, and novelty of the study.

  • Methods: Should clearly describe the research design, participants, instruments, data collection techniques, and analysis methods.

  • Results and Discussion: Present findings supported by sufficient data, and discuss them in relation to Islamic guidance and counselling theory, practice, or prior research.

  • Conclusion: Summarize key findings, answer research questions, highlight implications, and provide recommendations. Research limitations may also be included.

  • Acknowledgment: Optional; limited to sponsors, institutions, or individuals directly contributing to the research. Family members and supervisors should not be acknowledged here.

  • References: At least 80% of the references should be primary sources (journal articles) published within the last ten years. References must follow APA 7th Edition style.

Tables

  • Tables must have a clear and concise title placed above the table, written in Garamond 10 pt (e.g., Table 1. Results of Analysis…).

Figures

  • Figures must include captions below the figure, written in Garamond 10 pt (e.g., Figure 1. Model of Islamic Counselling Services…).

Equations

  • Equations should be written using MathType or standard text symbols, not as images.

  • Equations must be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals in parentheses aligned to the right, e.g., (1).


4. Citation and Reference Guidelines

  • All data, quotations, and references must be properly cited.

  • Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

  • References must follow the APA 7th Edition style consistently.


5. Online Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the Open Journal System (OJS) on the official website of Paramartha: Journal of Islamic Guidance and Counselling in Education.

  • Authors must first register as an Author in the OJS system.

  • The submission process consists of five steps:

    5. Confirmation

  • Manuscripts must be uploaded in Microsoft Word format, using the provided template.

  • Authors must ensure that all metadata (title, author(s), affiliation(s), abstract, keywords, and references) are filled in completely and correctly.

  • If difficulties occur during submission, authors may contact the Editorial Team of Paramartha Journal via the contact page on the journal’s website.
